i love these trees, the way they
hum, murmur, weep
they weep and i am convinced it’s all for me

a bit about me

i was born of thistle and tartan and grape
i knew how to swing an axe
and swim swim swim

born on the cusp of falling, falling
born into twilight and gospel and wet
i was born missing the sway and the swirl
set apart from the greening fern heavens
born into the swaddle and the feral sweater
born into love and love was born into me
